Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation. Trains users in conversion andimplementation of a system. May provide on-call/ongoing system support for key business applicationsEssential DutiesDesign and develop Java web-based and service oriented software through all tiers from presentation to persistence for an Operational Support System (OSS) that manages order capture & provisioning processes for products such as VPN, Direct Internet Access, VOIP, Dark Fiber and Waves via complex workflow and integration with customers, partners and back office cation and ExperienceBS Computer ScienceKnowledge, Skills or AbilitiesExperience with Telecom OSS application development a plus, but not a llsIdeal candidate will thrive in a fast paced environment and should have approximately 7 years Java experience, 4 years of J2EE experience and have a majority of the following skills:1. Advanced level development and knowledge of J2EE API*s.2. Strong knowledge of java open source technologies.3. Experience with JBOSS (4.x) app server deployment in a clustered environment.4. Experience with JDK 1.5 and 1.65. Proficiency with object-oriented design and design patterns.6. Ability to acquire and master new and complex technical skills.7. Proficiency with the following presentation-tier technologies: AJAX, JSP, JSF, JavaScript/DHTML and CSS.8. Experience with the Eclipse IDE environment.9. Knowledge of service oriented architecture (SOA) principles with experience in developing web services using SOAP, WSDL and Apache Axis.10. Proficiency in relational data modeling and SQL performance tuning.11. Good understanding of Object Relational Mapping (O/R) concepts with implementation experience using Hibernate.12. Experience in open source testing frameworks such as JUnit.13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.14. Tenacious personality to accomplish goals / milestones set per department / company objectives and project plans.15. Ability to be a self-starter and use own initiative appropriately.16. Strong problem solving skills with an aptitude for learning and implementing emerging technologies.17. Good inter-personal, oral and written communication skills.18.
