NDT (Non-Destructive Evaluation) TECHNICIAN Location: Chandler, AZ Salary Range: $18 - $22 per hour DOE. Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full Time Description: ArmorWorks, a leading-edge armor technology company, is seeking an experienced NDT Technician to perform NDE functions in support of ArmorWorks production and Research & Development programs. Duties: In this position, you will: -Perform NDE inspections and testing both in the field and in the laboratory in accordance with accepted work procedures and quality assurance program. Provide practical and technical input into NDE procedures to insure repeatability. -Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics. -Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas, and confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards. -Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Assure precision of resultant data within capabilities of the test plan. -Assist engineers/specialists in the fabrication of specialized mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic systems and devices. -Use principles of science, engineering, and mathematics to solve practical testing and quality control problems.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have: -Associate?s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. -Proficiency in at least one NDE discipline. -Thorough knowledge of products and production processes along with and testing procedures. -Well rounded NDE & quality background. -Experience in the following testing methods: mechanical and optical, electromagnetic and electronic, sonic and ultrasonic, thermal and infrared, chemical and analytical, visual, radiography, hardness, dielectric, and positive material identification. -Proficiency in automated NDE systems. -Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. -Must be dependable, organized and ethical with the ability to work as part of a team. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -NDT experience in a fabrication type environment and possess relevant qualification in NDT. -Ability to interpret technical drawings. Experience in inspection and testing of fabrication items. -Must have NDT education and current certification (ASNT) American Society for NDT as a Level 2 inspector. -Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 standard
