Serves under supervision for a specified period within an occupation and skill area that directly relates to their college engineering degree. The intern will be mentored/coached to work with customers in order to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements and develop designs to include wire harness installations. Will be trained to analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware, and interface specifications. Will be mentored to test and validate system designs to insure that they meet operational and functional requirements. Will be mentored/coached to solve problems and provide other support of fielded hardware over the entire product lifecycle. The Intern should be learning and striving to develop or attain a broad skill set. The intern should be striving to achieve the background and experience to utilize that skill set efficiently and effectively. Desired skills include circuit design and analysis, system architecture knowledge, system analysis, interconnection and wire harness knowledge, mechanical engineering, 3D modeling, computer aided design, configuration management of designs/drawings, and electronic drawing release through Product Data Manager (PDM).
Competencies Ability to design 3D installations of aircraft parts and wiring harnesses
Competencies Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Are you currently a junior or senior status in a college / university, or a graduate within the past 6 months?
Do you have education or experience reading, interpreting, and/or generating 2D/3D drawings with computer aided design software applications, such as NX, AutoCAD, CATIA, PRO-E or Solidworks?
Typical Education/Experience High school diploma or GED.
Other Job related information An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering; and have experience reading, interpreting, and/or generating 2D/3D drawings with computer aided design software. A Junior or Senior status is preferred with a minimum 2.8 GPA; please add your class status, month/year of graduation and GPA to your resume.
