Intern Student Engineer Wiring Design Engineer
Serves under supervision for a specified period within an occupation and skill area that directly relates to their college engineering degree. The intern will be mentored/coached to work with customers in order to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements and develop designs to include wire harness installations. Will be trained to analyze and translate requirements into system, hardware, and interface specifications. The Intern should be learning and striving to develop or attain a broad skill set. The intern should be striving to achieve the background and experience to utilize that skill set efficiently and effectively. Desired skills include circuit design and analysis, system architecture knowledge, system analysis, wiring interconnects and wire harness knowledge, mechanical engineering and computer aided design working knowledge.
Competencies Ability to read, interprets, and generates electrical block diagrams and wiring schematics.
Competencies Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook).
Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Are you currently a junior or senior status in a college / university, or a graduate within the past 6 months?
Do you have education or experience reading, interpreting, and/or generating electrical wiring drawings with computer aided design software applications?
Typical Education/Experience High school diploma or GED.
Other Job related information An ability to obtain an interim and/or final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Candidate should be pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering; and have experience generating 2D/3D drawings with computer aided design software. A Junior or Senior status is preferred w/ a minimum 2.8 GPA; please add your class status, month/year of graduation and GPA to your resume. Requires the ability to work 20+ hours during the school year and full-time during summer semester break.
