Inside Technical Sales/Field Service Technician

Flow Technology located in Tempe, AZ recognized worldwide for providing specialized, high accuracy flow metering solutions is currently searching for an Inside Technical Sales person to provide technical and non technical sales assistance to customers and representatives for all post-sales inquires as well as calibration services:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle post-sale incoming calls of a technical nature from the customer and representative, including but not limited to parts inquiries, calibration service quotation requests, troubleshooting inquiries, start-up assistance, service status and service expedites.
  
• Generate calibration service quotations for the customer as well as any follow-up
  
• Follow all troubleshooting calls to resolution and communicate recurring issues as required.
  
• Review incoming calibration service and parts orders for technical accuracy.
  
• Be familiar with all company products.
  
• Work with other departments as necessary to facilitate exceptional customer service.

This position will service as a back-up to the Field Service Engineer.



Field Responsibilities:

• The person must be able to travel to any location when the demand requires field service and support and to travel on short notice
  
• When in the field, their primary responsibility is to troubleshoot and repair customer’s equipment, assist the customer with their product installation or start-up and service any other technical problems as the situation dictates
  
• The Field Service Technician will understand the requirement of the service trip, submit scope documents to the customer and obtain the equipment / resources needed to fulfill the trip requirement in the timeframe needed
  
• The Field Service Technician will be responsible to maintain and keep current their travel documents and generate a trip report to be submitted to the customer following each service trip

The Inside Technical Sales person must demonstrate the ability to listen to the customer’s needs and recommend a solution based on the information provided.  This person will have good oral and written communication skills as well as a positive attitude.  He/she will be proficient in the use of a personal computer, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel and have the aptitude to learn other computer applications.  Previous knowledge of any CRM package is a plus.  The Inside Technical Salesperson will be capable of multi-tasking, making critical decisions, and working with deadlines.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Technical degree from a two-year college or equivalent work experience
  
• Experience in flow measurement or other related products.  He/she will demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of the product(s)
  
• Customer service experience and demonstrate the ability to multi-task in a sales environment
  
• minimum of 2 years actual field service experience in the process control environment working with instrumentation, sensors, controls, and related computer hardware and software products
  
• Must be able to service and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical instrumentation and flow control devices such as flow meters and their associated electronics
  
• A good working knowledge of PLCs, PID control loops and process control devices is required
  
• This person must be able to work independently to solve complex field service problems.
