Business Analyst

The Business Analyst acts as both a Product Owner as well as a Software Designer within an Agile development team, designing new products and product enhancements that are consistent with corporate design concepts and the existing product suite and data structures.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with customers to translate business needs into product requirements


• Accurately and concisely articulating issues, questions, and recommendations to customers, team members, and management


• Developing and clarifying well-formed, testable user stories


• Maintaining the functional quality of the work being delivered by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria


• Leading the review of user stories and other artifacts in collaboration with team members to establish and reach a common understanding of the behavior of a suitable solution to the business problem


• Working with the team to establish product backlogs, prioritize, and produce estimates


• Being available to address the multitude of questions, issues, and clarifications raised on a day to day basis, in an effort to keep product development flow moving


• Providing support to other internal groups such as Sales, Implementation Trainers, and Implementation Project Managers

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of agile development practices (especially Scrum), methodologies, and tools


• Experience in business process analysis, design and documentation.


• Ability to communicate effectively in meetings, email, and informal discussions using both technical and user-friendly language


• Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.


• Excellent facilitation, customer interaction, and presentation skills


• Excellent problem solving, analytical, and issues management skills


• Ability to deal effectively with difficult and sometimes ambiguous requirements, including federal and state government mandates


• Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred Attributes:

• Behavioral healthcare or medical knowledge


• Familiarity with GAAP


• Experience with payroll and accounting applications


• Experience with medical billing, Medicaid, Medicare, federal HIPAA regulations, and CMS Incentive Programs


• Direct hands-on experience with writing user stories, grooming product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced environment


• Experience with Agile project tracking software; JIRA Greenhopper or OnTime
