We are currently seeking an experienced accountant that is willing to work on a long-term contract or contract-to-hire basis.
This position will be responsible for performing core accounting functions and will contribute to the effective operation of the Company by processing and compiling accurate and timely financial information.
As an Accountant I, qualified candidates will:
Perform general accounting functions, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Coordinate the Company purchasing function, through the determination of appropriate accounting treatment for purchase orders and the handling of vendor inquiries.
Coordinate the Company accounts payable function, through the determination of appropriate accounting treatment for invoices, the processing of payments, the review of accounts payable aging reports, and the preparation of 1099 federal tax forms.
Ensure compliance with existing procurement and capitalization policies and procedures.
Support the Company inventory management function, through the set up and maintenance of inventory items, the processing of inventory adjustments, resulting from physical counts, and the determination of loss treatment associated with damaged or obsolete stock.
Perform and document internal controls related to assigned accounting job functions.
Requirements:
The core requirements for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Knowledge of accounting principles, accounting procedures, and the laws and regulations that apply to accounting and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and knowledge in utilizing accounting systems for transaction processing.
Analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
