To support the Arizona system operationally with measuring and assessing the effectiveness of departmental processes and procedures. Ensuring quality processes and programs are being utilized and are effective by developing performance measurements and communicating performance relative to standards. Ensure optimal efficiency by monitoring work quality; delivering reports, statistics and recommendations for improvement. To support the Arizona system financially with support and expertise in the evaluation of potential projects by compiling meaningful data upon which strategic decisions can be made.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
¿ Solicits feedback from key work group with respect to information needs. Communicates and explains financial and operational impacts.
¿ Provides general financial support, under the leadership of the Financial Planning Manager. These on-going activities would include, but not be limited to: efficiency analysis, system operational impact and expense analysis, budget/planning support, reporting, and key operational support.
¿ Develops business studies and cooperates with other departments in the preparation of analysis.
¿ Develops spreadsheets to validate and integrate accounting and other pertinent information with operations information.
¿ Performs detailed statistical and financial analyses using data collected from the financial accounting systems, or other database systems.
¿ Assists the system in achieving its business objectives by executing various action programs as assigned by the strategic and long-range planning process.
¿ Collects data / information from multiple sources, such as internal records, interviews, external surveys and business forecasts.
¿ Identifies variances to business trends, quantities, variances, budgets and forecasts.
¿ Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) for area of focus.
¿ Generates a variety of routine, special & ad hoc reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually through data extraction techniques.
¿ Reports on information contained in the database to internal clients.
¿ Helps maintain data by updating new or changed information.
¿ Designs and creates documents, spreadsheets and reports to measure performance.
¿ Performs other duties as required.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS - ESSENTIAL
Education:
B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting, Finance or related business discipline required.

Experience:
2 ¿ 5 years of directly applicable experience.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
¿ Excellent project planning, analytical, critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving skills
¿ Self-starter with the ability to determine a breakdown in process and take the project from infancy to completion.
¿ Knowledge of financial / accounting concepts (accruals, expenditures, purchase requisitions, actuals, forecasts, estimates)
¿ Strong organization, written and oral communication skills. Must be an effective communicator.
¿ Effective written and oral communication skills.
¿ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and with Database applications and handling large volumes of raw data.
¿ Ability to research and analyze data.
¿ Good customer service skills and focus.
¿ Must be able to manage to deadlines and prioritize.
¿ Understanding of Oracle, ICOMS and other financial and non-financial systems
