USAA is currently seeking a talented Financial Advisor for our Phoenix, AZ facility for a May start date.
As a Financial Advisor for USAA, you will assess our members financial situations and goals to make appropriate financial recommendations; provide financial advice on an array of financial issues, to include the subjects of retirement planning, college funding, insurance planning, asset allocation and basic debt management; recommend appropriate financial planning products, and develop financial strategies based on clients goals, individual needs and life events. This is the entry level of the Financial Advisor hierarchy. This position requires acquisition and maintenance of applicable licenses, designations or certifications.
Job duties:
- Assess members financial situations by integrating information from multiple data sources.
- Demonstrate an understanding of clients financial needs and works with client to develop, implement, and modify financial strategies.
- Give compliant and actionable financial guidance to achieve desired financial outcomes. More complex financial situations may be discussed with or elevated to Financial Advisors II or I.
- Performs needs analyses of clients personal and financial situations. Listen very closely to member needs and break down complex topics, products and issues into simple solutions. Integrate multiple product features and presents analysis to client along with various strategies and recommendations with an enterprise wide focus.
- Utilize enterprise product menu, systems and resources to appropriately advise members on all USAA products.
- Complete/updates documentation consistent with USAAs Financial Advice and Guidelines, policies and procedures and various cross company USAA systems.
- Keep current on proposed and new legislative initiatives that may impact the economy, society, and personal financial situations. Explain implications of economic trends and tax law changes.
Qualified candidates need to possess:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
- Acquisition and maintenance of applicable insurance license, designation and/or securities registration to include NASD Series 7, 63, 65, Life and Health licenses and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation.
- Minimum three years of customer contact experience.
- One year of financial services experience (to include Life, Investments, or Financial Planning).
